Thank you for registering for our Summer Splash Youth Chorus with Madison Shortes & Cosmic Quartet!

For a sense of overall unity, please bring a BLACK OUTFIT to wear for the Saturday evening “performance” and spice it up with ROYAL BLUE flair (ex: scarves, headbands, ribbons, belts, ties, bracelets, earrings, shoes, etc that are ROYAL BLUE). We don’t have a uniform, but ensuring that everyone has black attire with blue accent pieces will give our group a unified look! You can wear something else and change into this outfit during the dinner break if you wish, or you can wear it all day — entirely up to you.

Please learn A Million Dreams and One Fine Day prior to attending to ensure that our clinician can run productive, fast-paced rehearsals.

This music is provided to you for your use at THIS EVENT only. If you wish to retain and perform this music in another setting, you will need to legally purchase and clear the music for your ensemble.

NOTE: This song will be combined with the Summer Splash Workshop, giving our young singers an opportunity to sing along-side our regional membership chorus! Please prioritize the other two songs (A Million Dreams & One Fine Day).

More about our workshop director, Madison Shortes…

Madison Shortes, originally from Tampa, FL, found her love for barbershop at Gaither High School under the mentorship of Debbie Cleveland (Showtime; The BUZZ; Dynasty). She continued her passion for harmony by attending Sunshine District Harmony Explosion camps both as a camper and later as a counselor for five rewarding years. As a member of Blaze Quartet, she secured third place at Rising Star in 2018, marking a significant milestone in her barbershop career. Madison’s dedication to the art of a cappella led her to win the SAI Rising Star competition in 2023 as the bass of Cosmic Quartet before transitioning to the role of baritone.

Currently, Madison lends her expertise as a high school choir director at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop, TX. Her varsity choir, Creek Harmony Crusade, is poised to compete at Barbershop Harmony Society’s Midwinter convention in 2025. When not shaping young voices, Madison enjoys harmonizing with Cosmic Quartet and Rehearsal Dinner, a BHS Varsity Quartet. Amidst her busy schedule, Madison finds joy in exploring culinary delights, embarking on new adventures, and basking in the warmth of friendship.

Cosmic Quartet will serve as section leaders and assist Madison in leading this one-day workshop!
