Meet this year’s Youth Chorus Director…

CAROLINE DURRETT

Caroline Durrett is an accomplished barbershop educator, clinician, and director with a deep commitment to nurturing young singers both musically and personally. A Sweet Adelines International Queen of Harmony with The Ladies Quartet, Caroline brings firsthand experience at the highest level of the art form—along with a thoughtful, youth-centered approach that makes her an exceptional leader for emerging singers.

Caroline holds a Master’s degree in Counseling, which uniquely equips her to support the mental, emotional, and social well-being of young performers. As a music educator and coach, she is especially skilled at helping singers build confidence, healthy vocal habits, teamwork skills, and resilience—tools that serve students not only on the risers, but in everyday life. Parents value Caroline’s ability to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow.

In addition to her barbershop work, Caroline is an active choral musician and director, performing with the Highland Park Chorale and other Dallas ensembles. Her musical background spans classical, choral, Broadway, pop, folk, and a cappella styles, giving her a broad perspective that resonates with today’s young singers. Caroline’s professional credits include recording and vocal work for The Biggest Little Farm and Walker, Texas Ranger, reflecting her versatility and real-world industry experience.

Harmony: For Good marks Caroline’s third time serving as director for Region 10’s Young Women in Harmony programming. Her return speaks volumes—she is a trusted, beloved leader who consistently inspires students to sing with confidence, connect with others, and find joy in music. We are thrilled to welcome her back to guide and encourage the next generation of barbershop singers.
