MARY RHEA
Mary Rhea has experienced barbershop from nearly every angle imaginable over the past 40 years: Master Director, Certified Sound Judge, quartet singer, educator, coach, seminar leader, and International President. Along the way, she has sung in four regions, six choruses, and eleven quartets—including as baritone of the 2010 International Champion Quartet Zing!. Today, Mary serves as immediate Past President of SingUnited International while continuing her work as a member of the Education Direction Committee and Editorial Review Board. As Master Director of OK City Chorus (2023 Harmony Classic AA Champion), she remains passionate about helping singers and leaders build stronger voices, stronger ensembles, and stronger communities. Known for blending technical excellence with practical application, Mary helps singers and leaders transform concepts into results they can hear, feel, and repeat. Her background in physical therapy and gerontology gives her a unique perspective on learning, performance, and helping people thrive at every stage of their musical journey. When she’s not teaching or singing barbershop, you’ll find her hiking, traveling, cheering on her Oklahoma Sooners, or creating something with her hands. But wherever she goes, harmony and friendship are never far behind.
