Guest Clinician for Fall Fling
✨ Melynnie Williams is a second-generation barbershopper and the bass of ZING!, the 2010 International Quartet Champions and Sweet Adelines Queens of Harmony. She currently serves as the Master Director of the Wichita Chorus in Wichita, KS, leading them to repeated success in Region 25, including first place Division A wins in 2023, 2024, and 2025, with top-three overall finishes each year. The chorus also mic-tested for Harmony Classic in 2024 and will compete this fall in Columbus.
Melynnie is the Education Coordinator for Region 25, chairs the Region 25 Education Steering Committee, and serves on both the Region 25 Educational Faculty and the Coronet Club Board of Directors. She’s also a long-time member of the SAI Membership Retention Committee, which supports choruses around the world in strengthening member engagement.
With experience as a competitor, director, coach, and educator, Melynnie brings a well-rounded perspective to her roles. She often shares insights from Mission: Retention – The Playbook to help choruses cultivate stronger, more inclusive group culture.
Membership Spotlight Faculty
Karla Callaway – Director, Texas Harmony Chorus
Karla has served as the Director of Texas Harmony since August 2018, bringing her passion for creating an engaging and inspiring learning environment to the chorus. Committed to elevating each member’s vocal abilities, she provides both group instruction and individual coaching. Karla’s vocal expertise has been shaped by mentorship from Tom Blaylock of the Northwest Vocal Institute and extensive self-study, alongside professional development through Sweet Adelines International.In addition to her directorial role, Karla is a seasoned piano and voice teacher, as well as a coach for both choruses and quartets. She has enjoyed several top-five finishes in both chorus and quartet competitions, underscoring her ability to excel both on stage and in leadership. As a Certified Director and Harmony 500 Director, honors granted by Sweet Adelines International, Karla has contributed to the growth of Region 10 as a member of the Regional Education Faculty. She has coached numerous choruses and quartets and offered Personal Vocal Instruction (PVI) to many singers across the region.
Lynn Poston – Assistant Director, Texas Harmony Chorus
Lynn has been a dedicated member of Texas Harmony for over 11 years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to the chorus. Over the course of her tenure, she has served in various pivotal roles, including Communications Chair, Choreographer, Team Leader, Membership Chair, and Tenor Section Leader. She currently serves as Assistant Director and is actively pursuing her Director Certification with Sweet Adelines International.Karla’s collaborative partnership with Lynn has been a cornerstone of Texas Harmony’s growth and success. Their shared dedication to fostering a dynamic and open learning environment has led to impressive developments within the chorus. Together, they have built a robust marketing program that has helped Texas Harmony thrive, emphasizing the importance of open communication and a strong, supportive culture. Their combined efforts have not only strengthened the musical aspect of the chorus but have cultivated a community where members feel inspired and connected, ensuring continued growth and success for the chorus.
