Jen Cooke

Jen started singing barbershop at a young age with her mom, dad, and sister in Marion, Ohio. She brought this love of four-part harmony with her to Nashville, Tennessee, where she joined Sweet Adelines International (SA) in 2000.  She has since joined the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) and Harmony, Inc. (HI) and remains a proud member of all three organizations.

Jen is a Certified Director through Sweet Adelines’ Director Certification Program and has achieved the status of Master Director.  She is also a past member of the SA International Board of Directors and served on the Regional Leadership Committee and the Young Women in Harmony Committee.

During the COVID lockdown, Jen created a YouTube channel called “Sing With Jen,” which encourages tag and canon singing, allowing singers to learn tags/canons and sing along with the videos.  She also created over 100 virtual choral projects and continued to coach quartets, choruses, and individuals online.

Jen has been honored to be a part of the prestigious Harmony University (BHS) faculty and to have taught in Harmony Inc. Virtual Education (HIVE). She has served as a past Membership Coordinator for Region 14 and Education Coordinator for Region 4; she is currently on the Regional Faculty in Regions 4 and 14 (SA).

Jen sings with Presto!, current international 12th place quartet (SA) and Just Sayin’ quartet (HI). She is also a member of Song of Atlanta Chorus (SA), Bluegrass Harmony Chorus (HI), and Great River Voices (BHS). Jen has been the front-line director for Scenic City Chorus (SA) in Chattanooga, TN, for the past 13 years and is also currently directing Music City Sound (HI), a hybrid-virtual chorus based in Nashville, TN.

Jen continues to coach in SA, BHS, and HI, both in person and online.  For the past three years, she has been honored to receive the Judy St. John Coach of the Year award (SA).  She also creates learning media and currently has tracks for over 1,200 songs on her website.

Jen’s love of barbershop music has created an enthusiasm for musical excellence and education throughout her life, and she is passionate about sharing this with others!
